Carrie litigates a variety of business cases with a focus on representing whistleblowers who bring wrongdoing to light. Carrie also represents plaintiffs in cases involving unpaid overtime, discrimination and harassment, freedom of speech, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, minority shareholder rights and price fixing antitrust claims.
Carrie grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She studied journalism at the University of Missouri – Columbia and studied business at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. Carrie attended MU for law school. She served as a Lead Articles Editor for the Missouri Law Review and graduated second in her law school class. Although she now represents plaintiffs, Carrie began her practice primarily representing corporate defendants in the trial department of Stinson, Mag and Fizzell, P.C., in 1996. While at Stinson, Carrie practiced law in both Kansas City and St. Louis. Carrie and Tammy Horn started their own business, Brous Horn LLC, in 2003. Our mission is to provide our clients with affordable, quality results.
Carrie has been awarded an individual "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available. An "AV" rating has also been awarded to the firm.
